“mirrors…I hate them.i hate that every time I get into a washroom I bump into one.and there,there it is…my reflection.i hate that i don’t like what I see and I get Moody and the rest of my day is ruined”That is a feeling I’ve known for long,and if you ever feel like you’re too plump or your thighs are big or your tummy is big or your bust or arms or ass…you know it too.This feeling is the worst; it ruins your confidence,makes you uncomfortable around people and lowers your esteem.
I remember once I was going for an audition for the character of a young teenage girl.The building had a lot of glass windows and as I walked I had a nagging arge to look,and I fought it real hard but eventually I did and at that moment all I saw was a fat girl who looked nothing like a teenager.i stood there for a few seconds angry,dissapointed and I felt tears running towards my eyes.i quickly rushed out of the building and went back home cursing myself.
That night I couldn’t sleep ,all did was think.And that night I made three decisions.one:crying and being ashamed of my body wasn’t gonna change anything..Two:That I will love and appreciate every part of my body and finally to enroll in a gym and start on a healthy diet.
It’s been one year and i’ve learnt a lot.One great thing I’ve learnt that it starts with you..love and appreciate yourself, know that you are beautiful and perfect and be strong Because if you’ve been on this journey as long as myself or longer,we can tell the beginners that it’s not easy…are you going to be dissapointed somedays ,yes,are you going to be discouraged by your mates.yes or most likely,and yes strangers will have have something to say about how you look and exercises will hurt your muscles and on really bad days tears will wet your pillow and sometimes your best junk food will charm you and you’ll relapse, but one thing is for sure,each pain each tear,each heartbreak,each hardworking each shilling and each sacrifice will be worth it.Each day you’ll get better ,more confident,more healthy,more fit and get closer to your dream body.
So each day,wear our best make up and outfits and stare at the mirror and smile because you are perfect As we journey together towards fitness
